Summer is almost over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a great vacation. In fact, temperatures are falling and that’s a great signal to go to warmer places, and there’s no better way to enjoy a sunny vacation than a cruise.

However, the motion during the cruise can be tricky and you may experience some discomfort. Don’t let this minor detail ruin your vacation! For this reason, at Gaab Travel International, we would like to share with you a few tips to deal with seasickness.

Get enough rest before you board the cruise, and stay away from alcohol and coffee. Also, try to avoid sun overexposure and greasy food at the buffet.

Choose your Cabin

The cabins that are in the center of the ship are the first to be booked and there is a good reason for that: they are closer to the ship’s center of gravity, therefore there is less motion. Try to choose your cabin and it’s even better if they have a window or balcony, so you can look at the horizon and reestablish your sense of orientation.

There are some medications that don’t require a prescription to treat this problem, the most common are Dramamine and Bonine. Plus, there is a prescription Scopolamine patch, that it’s applied behind the ear. Make sure to consult your medic before your trip, so he can tell you the best option.

Other Alternatives

If you choose not taking medication, there are many other options for you. There are wristbands that use the same principles of acupuncture, that will protect you against nausea. Also, ginger is proven to be effective against seasickness, you can take it in tea or candy, so make sure to try it!

Forget about dizziness, nausea and other unpleasant effects of seasickness - simply remember these tips before you board your cruise.
